3D Technology ChecklistThis product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires:A DisplayFirst, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession. A SourceYour display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.3D Content3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.3D GlassesFor now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands.HDMI CableTo connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality. If you want to get more information about 3D, shop our 3D products, watch videos, or interact with other customers, we invite you to visit 3D 101, our customer center about everything 3D. Internet-Ready Television Internet-ready TVs use your broadband connection to deliver dynamic content, whether it's streaming video from Netflix, new music from Pandora, or a quick glance at today's weather forecast. Although there is overlap, each manufacturer offers a unique bundle of free or paid services, including streaming video and music, social networking apps, online photo galleries, news and financial updates, weather info, sports scores, and a variety of other smartphone-like applications. Manufacturers continue to add new content to their offerings, keeping customers current through firmware updates, and making a bit of research a prudent step in your buying decision. Sony Bravia KDL-32EX720 In Ninjawithagun I recently purchased the Sony Bravia EX720 from an electronics store (not Amazon, because I prefer to make major electronic purchases locally in case I need to go quickly and the exchange of a defective item). Overall, the TV is good but not great. Here's a quick down and dirty list "in my opinion (IMO) 'advantages and disadvantages: Advantages: - High quality LED side-lit LCD display - 3D and true Hi-Definition 1080p capable, but with certain limitations - Colours and contrast is vivid, if you have the time to manually adjust the picture settings to take - Built-in 3-D transmitter, no need for external transmitter, which is about $ 35 saving buy - 3D effects are very good overall, but the Best results can only be achieved by 3D View Blu-ray movies - Artificial 3D option in the 3D options work well and provide an alternative to PC games in 3D, without the NVIDIA 3D Vision of 3DTV Play drivers to use, allowing you to keep 60 fps frame rate, but must return to a 24 Hz (24 fps) refresh rate - No 3D shading obvious, but you may need to make manual adjustments to the depth effect - I had to do this - HDMI 4 x 14 4 connections - internet in the location of the box - and 6-degree swivel tilt back - directly compatible with the Sony PS3 (should be no surprise, since it is a Sony TV) - TV's firmware can be upgraded, but not required Internet connectivity - Weight of TV is 25 pounds - very light and easy to move or to climb the wall without worrying about fixing screws tighten the bolts in the wall! - The keys on the remote are very convenient and saves you time from digging into the sub-menus to make adjustments each time only to certain features Cons: - NO TV 240Hz 3D Sonyc com website lists the technical specifications for this model as "120Hz" refresh rate (AMAZON IS the listed description for this TV is now fixed!) - Had contact Sony customer support directly to verify that Sony 3D glasses model is compatible with the KDL- 32EX720 is, their website is not this information is confirmed with the tech rep to TDGBR100 / B version is compatible with the KDL-32EX720 considered important, "B" think like "B" stands for "BRAVIA":) - Limited Edition 3-D display 1080p @ 24Hz and 30Hz only? Want to play 24Hz = 24 fps and 30Hz = 30fps This is not a problem for the reputation 3D Blu Ray movies (or just put 2D movies in 3D), but it is not acceptable if you choose to games on this TV, part of the reason I bought it - takes a couple of hours to manually adjust the image exactly as you want it, you have to go into "Advanced Settings" for things like white balance, black level correction, edge enhancement, etc. change - Priced a bit "high not to have included 3D glasses and a refresh rate of 240Hz; WARNING: The glasses cost $ 150 each Oo - the cord is hardwired into the TV, he would have preferred a universal solution of the power cord so that it easily replaced should damage - The remote is a bit "clumsy and big and does not Universal remote control feature because you can only control the TV, unlike other remotes, allowing you to conrol different devices - a function of universal remote control would be nice for me because I could use the remote to control both the TV and my PS3 Sony, do not know why Sony would not allow that this does not make more money from their customers ... No! lol Conclusion: Depending on the intentions of what the primary use of this TV is / are ultimately determine the final decision to buy or not. If you watch Blu-ray and 3D regular and like the convenience of embedded Internet functionality, then this TV is a good choice, but a bit pricey when you consider that you have to pay $ 150 more than the 3D glasses image quality when viewing Blu Ray's good y.
