3D Technology Checklist This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires: A DisplayFirst, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession. A SourceYour display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system. 3D Content3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game. 3D GlassesFor now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands. HDMI CableTo connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality. If you want to get more information about 3D, shop our 3D products, watch videos, or interact with other customers, we invite you to visit 3D 101, our customer center about everything 3D. Better yet, add a Blu-ray 3D player and some Samsung 3D glasses, and you'll have access to ultra-immersive 3D entertainment. 3D glasses not included in box, must be purchased as optional accessory. Click here for a larger image Make the Most of Movie Night Plasma Display Samsung's Plasma HDTVs deliver all the bold contrast and color of plasma, with the advanced features and design that Samsung is known for. Compared to other types of displays, Plasma offers high contrast ratios, gorgeously saturated colors, and allows for wide viewing angles, so every seat in the house is a great one. 3D Active Glasses sync up with the 3D TV to produce 3D images that virtually leap off the screen. Samsung's new Plus One design offers a bigger screen with a narrower outer frame. 600Hz subfield technology makes contours crisper and scrolling text sharper. 3D Picture Performance See how 3D HD movies and sports come alive with depth and action that leap from the screen. Connect a Blu-ray 3D Player or other 3D device and enjoy an immersive experience (Samsung active 3D glasses required, sold separately). I just discovered the online television a few hours before you buy. I've always wanted a Samsung and I saw once in the store, I was hooked. He had are. Received a few [2] new 3D-3100 Samsung's glasses. Please note, this TV is huge. I swear, it looked so great in the store [Will report to the individual. write]. picture quality is excellent . Break-in is not required. were slides for one day before the TV regularly. no IR at all. blacks are deep and rich, the colors are rich and lifelike. I have not had it professionally calibrated, with only the ones I found on AVS forum and tweak them to my taste. The settings are very, very adapt. SD programs are good. soft, sometimes, but very watchable. Of course, HD / Blu-ray / DVD content is not of this world. Audio is surprisingly good. Very clear and strong, I rarely 11th Also, no hum. I heard a slight noise, when I configure the settings for the dynamic image, but it is not a problem because I do not use. [This setting is too bright and saturated for my taste.] 3D is also great. I do not really have much experience in this area, since this is my first 3D TV. There was no persistence, purpose, or halo effect. The same is true for 2D to 3D conversion. I actually saw and converted Avatar Tron: Legacy 3D Blu-ray and the two films look great. For those who have the "Soap Opera" effect, Cinema Smooth as great works. I like the effect I'm gone. Overall, a great TV. Are very satisfied with the purchase. Large plasma. Lush colors, deep blacks, 3D, and a large SD / HD-quality. 13 of 13 people found this review helpful. The best thing for you under a lot through Gooner4Ever I was on the market from a 37 "LCD, and after careful consideration, seeking soul, and introspection, I decided that PN51D550 big and has too good to give up on it I would be an upgrade can get 'm not really a 3D kinda guy, but I have two small children, so that the recording of this particular bell and whistle was not negotiable. Considering that Amazon had it for about 950 , $ 00 without including shipping, well that was just too good to be on it. Login to draw on the account, hoping the credit card, light a novena candle safe transportation and the best (and delivered just fine.) Previously, I had this machine for about a week to guarantee and I must say I'm relieved and ecstatic about my decision. I'm over 50 hours to break into things (I know, I know, perhaps needlessly, but I'd much rather err on the side of caution) and there is a love story from the road. Like most HDTV, watching standard-def stuff is not pretty, but it's passable. The real beauty comes when you look at things in HD, when everything comes alive only black ink is black, the red is redder than Lenin, and the images are clean enough to eat out. If you've ever wanted to count the lines on the front of Gordon Ramsay came to the TV right. Why am I still doing break in, I have not seen any BluRay on it yet, but I edit my review when you get around to doing it. Even I can not comment on the sound quality of television, because I have that originally connected to a receiver, which I highly recommend to anyone in the market for one of these. These kits were made to be supplemented with 5.1, 7.1 or 7.2 channel systems. If you plan to make the receiver, one must remember that this particular model does not support the arch, so you need an optical audio cable and an HDMI cable when connecting. EDIT 7 / 16: After timidly remember that with a 1.8 BluRay 85:1 aspect ratio will not show black stripes I tested a few and the results were fascinating Blacks in The Dark Knight was obsidian, as they were on the TRON: Legacy, but alternately vivid whites, oranges, red and yellow of the movie was very lively and light bulbs. I also played a few turns of Gran.
